In front of a packed house (more than two thousand spectators) that crowded into the Alto Paraná Governorate Coliseum in Ciudad del Este, the Colombian team won the C17 World Cup title in indoor soccer for the second consecutive time, defeating Paraguay in the final in extra time by 6 to 4, after a 3 to 3 draw in normal time.
During the normal period of play, Matias Ramirez opened the scoring for the home team and Maicol Garcia tied the score.
In the second half, Osorio put the Albirroja ahead again, but Juan Hidalgo turned the score around with a double, until Ovelar equalised from a penalty on the hour mark, taking the decision to extra time. Before that, Villasanti wasted another similar shot, rowing high and wide.
In the first period of overtime, Baena put the Colombians ahead with a free throw, but before the end of the first overtime, Ovelar tied the score again, putting it 4 to 4.
In the second half of extra time, first Baena and then Maikol Garcia sealed the match and Colombia won 6-4.
