Simultaneously, the first day of competition was held in Carmen del Paraná, Itapúa, the main venue, where defending champion Brazil beat the USA 3-2 and Paraguay beat Canada 4-3, and in Coronel Bogado, where the Colombian team produced the first big win by defeating Australia 11-0.
The main opening ceremony, which was presided over by the head of AMFutsal, Dr. Rolando Alarcón Rios, took place in Carmen del Paraná, where in the other two games of the first day, Chile beat Mexico 2-1 and Catalonia beat Bolivia 4-1.
In the other match in Coronel Bogado, Argentina beat Uruguay 5-1.
