The launch of the II C17 Indoor Soccer World Championship was held in Ciudad del Este, capital of the Alto Paraná department, Paraguay. The ceremony was attended by the highest local authorities and was presided over by the president of the World Association, Dr. Rolando Alarcón Rios.
It was announced that the event will run from May 20 to 26 at the modern sports center of the Alto Paraná Governorate, a unique venue.
On the occasion, various general details were given about the competition, which will feature twelve competing countries whose national representatives will be staying at the Gran Nobile hotel in the capital of Alto Paraná.
The first edition of this ecumenical competition in the C 17 category was held in 2016 in San Ignacio, Misiones and Encarnación, Itapua (final) and its second call that was to be held in 2020 had to be cancelled due to the covid 19 pandemic. That tournament was won by Colombia, which in the final beat the local team by 5 to 3.
