The four teams from South American countries managed to reach the semi-finals of the III C20 World Cup of indoor soccer, in the 1 de Noviembre Pavilion in Balaguer.
Paraguay, the defending champion, eliminated the local team from Catalonia by defeating them 4-2 in the most even match of the round of death or knockout.
Uruguay advanced by beating Italy 5-2, while Brazil beat Australia 6-0 and Colombia eliminated Mexico by the same number of points.

Paraguay and Argentina shared the two titles awarded so far in the history of the top ecumenical competition in the category.
The first edition, held in Chile in 2014, was won by the Albiceleste, who beat Paraguay 5-3 in the final, leaving Colombia in third place after beating the local Chilean team 6-0.
In 2018, in the second edition held in Valledupar, Colombia, Paraguay won the title, taking revenge on Argentina by beating them in the final by 3 to 2 in extra time. Brazil finished third, beating Catalonia by 4 to 2.
The third edition was postponed due to the pandemic and was only now able to be held in Balaguer, Catalonia, the first time that the event has moved to the Old World.
