Indoor soccer had its epicentre in Paraguay, the Mediterranean country located in the heart of South America, as its great international diffusion (in Asuncion, its capital, in January 1965 the historic first international tournament was played, a South American championship won by the host country).
This April, in one of the cities of this nation, Coronel Oviedo, in the Eastern Region, the 53rd edition of the national championships was held. The Paranaense team was the champion, dethroning the previous champion Presidente Franco in the final by two goals to one.
