Mexicans put up a tough battle and tied the South American champions

The Mexican team of Calvarios Latinos put up tough resistance to the brand new South American champion of indoor soccer clubs, José Meza de Ñemby, in an intense duel that ended tied 4 to 4 at the Coliseo Cierto de Deportes y Espectáculos in the city of Pitalito, Colombia

The Guarani quintet took an initial lead of 3 to 0 with successive goals scored by Rolando Ascona on two occasions and Julio Rodas.

But then the Aztecs reacted. They went to the dressing room with two discounts from Sebastián Orjuela and in the second stage with two more goals (one more from Orjuela and another from Edgar Alvarez) they turned the game around with four successive goals and went ahead 4 to 3 on the scoreboard, until finally , Julio Rodas managed to equalize, establishing definitive figures.

The opening protocol ceremonies followed, after which Simón Bolivar (Paraguay) and the host Pharaones de Pitalito (Colombia) came into action.

The Cacicques of Quindío, also a representative of Colombia, rested on the first day.
