Paraguay against Catalonia and Colombia against Mexico will be the semi-finals of the C17 World Cup

Paraguay advanced to the semi-finals of the C17 World Cup, which will be played today at the Alto Paraná Governorate Sports Centre in Ciudad del Este, after beating Bolivia 8-0.

The goals were scored with doubles by Alan Ovelar and Matias Ramirez, completing the figures by Oscar Osorio, Alex Villasanti, Julio Molinas and Federico Pattenden.

The host country will face Catalonia in the semi-finals, the only surviving European representative, who beat Ecuador 11-0.

Colombia, like Paraguay, reached the semi-finals with pure victory, after beating Bolivia 8 to 2.

Their semi-final opponent will be Mexico, who in the most disputed and even match of the tournament, qualified via penalties, the final decisive instance, after a 3-3 draw in normal time and 4-4 in ten minutes of extra time.

From the penalty spot the Aztecs ended up winning 3 to 2.

TODAY'S DAY

The matchday for this Saturday, May 25, will feature the matches for the final position starting at 1:00 p.m., with France vs. India facing off for 11th place, Chile vs. Canada for ninth place, Uruguay vs. Ecuador for seventh place, and Bolivia vs. Brazil for fifth place.

The semi-finals will then take place at 18:00. First, Colombia will play Mexico, and then Paraguay will play Catalonia at 20:00.
