Historical data
Futsal has been characterized by its strong emphasis on youth competitions worldwide. Eight youth world championships have already been held, in addition to the thirteen adult world championships that have been regularly held since 1982 (preceded by an experimental intercontinental cup won by Paraguay in 1980). Paraguay is the most successful team with four titles (1988, 2003, 2007, and 2023).
The current C15 World Championship is the ninth event for youth categories, with one edition of this level, three of the C20 category, two of C17 and two of C13 already having been held.
The previous C15 edition, also held in Paraguay, took place in 2016 in Presidente Franco City. It was won by the Brazilian team, with Colombia as runner-up and Paraguay taking third place.
